Over the past two months, the CIDC’s social department has had at least four successful placements at The Haven’s various shelters in Cape Town
Recently Shaun Giles, age 30, approached the CIDC for social assistance. He had been living rough on the street for a month after both his parents had passed away and the family home was repossessed by the bank.
CIDC Social Fieldworker, Theo Ahrends (below), immediately contacted The Haven and succeeded in placing Shaun at one of The Haven’s facilities in the Western Cape.
This means that there are now four less people sleeping on the streets of Claremont. This is all thanks to the CIDC’s partnership with The Haven.
