African Chess Lounge, Claremont Improvement District Company in Partnership with Knight Frank and Chess Western Province will host the 6th Annual Claremont Chess festival.
The event will be a 9 round blitz with a time control of 5 mins plus 3 seconds per player. It will have 2 sections. A junior section and a senior section.
We will kick off with 2 Simultaneous Exhibitions delivered by two junior Masters, FIDE Master Keegan Agulhas and Women FIDE Master Dantelle Joubert.
We are giving the simul experience to the first 10 under 12 boys who will play FM Agulhas and the first 10 under 12 girls playing WFM Dantelle Joubert.
Sections for the tournament are two.
1. The Senior Section 12 years +
2. Junior Section Below 12 years
For clarity, If one has turned 12 or are above you play in the Senior section. If you are 11 but have not turned 12 you play in the Junior section. Of course, if one is a junior but would like to play in the Senior section they are welcome.
