Owing to the high level of germs, disease and viruses CIDC staff are exposed to on a daily basis, in the execution of their function of making Claremont a cleaner place for all, Social and Cleansing staff received a 10 year vaccination on Wednesday 20 June against diphtheria, tuberculosis, whooping cough, measles and tetanus hepatitis B and yellow fever.

Cleansing and Social staff interact directly with the homeless who are often HIV positive, have TB and also interact with the urine and excreta of homeless who use the public space as a toilet.

The CIDC acknowledges the serious challenge its staff deal with and hence this initiative CIDC also supports the endeavour of Cllr Ian Iversen and the Claremont Clinic in providing free health screenings for Men at the Claremont Clinic on Saturday 30thJune 2012.
