In the early hours (03h36) of Sunday morning, 19 June, CIDC Officer Nathi Nomandela responded to a medical emergency in Hawthorne Road.
Officer Nomandela was the first to arrive on the scene and immediately informed the CIDC Control Room requesting that the relevant emergency services be contacted. He also cordoned off the area and called for assistance to control the crowd that had gathered around to watch.
Officer Nomandela remained on the scene until Emergency Services had arrived to control the situation. The area was cleared and the injured taken to hospital.
When the family of the injured arrived, Officer Nomandela assisted them and informed them about what had happened. The family were extremely grateful for his swift response and actions.
The CIDC Management is proud to be associated with an excellent Officer such as Nathi Nomandela who was awarded Officer of the Month for the second time in a row.
