CIDC Section Leader Phumzile Xeketwana selected as CIDC Officer of the Month for March 2017
Section Leader Phumzile Xeketwana, a longstanding employee of the CIDC, has been selected as the CIDC Officer of the Month for March to acknowledge his outstanding and valuable contribution to the day to day operation of the CIDC.
A week ago Section Leader (S/L) Xeketwana was on patrol in the CBD when one of his Officers, posted at Claremont Station, requested back-up. He and a supervisor and two officers responded. They were informed by a member of the public that he had just been robbed. He asked bystanders in which direction the suspects had fled and without delay gave chase. He and his team successfully arrested one of three suspects.. It was established that this suspect was also wanted in several other similar cases in other areas.
Thanks to S/L’s Xeketwana’s diligence and quick response the Claremont CBD is a safer place.
